Principal's Message

Hello Andrew families, and welcome to the 2022/23 school year!
I would like to take a moment to introduce myself to any families and school community members whom I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting. I have worked within various roles in EIPS for the past 10+ years. During this time, I had the privilege of teaching grades 1 - 8, as well as fulfilling the role of school counselor and assistant principal. I have worked in AL Horton School, Mundare School and most recently as the Acting Assistant Principal of Vegreville Composite High. I have thoroughly enjoyed working in and getting to know each of these schools. As a resident of Lamont County, I am passionate about rural education. I’ve recently completed my Masters of Education with my final project focusing on the importance of embedding mental health supports in schools, which is another area of passion and priority for me. I am excited to have the opportunity to fulfill the role of Andrew School principal and look forward to meeting Andrew School students, parents, guardians, community members as well as the rest of our school stakeholders.
Teachers have been working this August to prepare classrooms for students, organize books to engage every reader and to create lesson plans to engage all learners. We are looking forward to another exciting year of connecting, learning and fostering leadership in our students.
The school office is open and we are preparing for the first day of school on Tuesday, August 30. If you have any questions prior to the first day of school, please give us a call at 780-365-3501.
